Q: Can I cancel my AirAsia ticket and refund?

I had booked a flight, but now wanting to cancel it. I was thinking if it is possible to at least get some refund back. Anyone experience it before?
You can change your flight and pay a fee. But I doubt you can get any refund from cancellation. I tried calling them to ask but I was always put on hold. But a friend who took Tiger Air changed the time of her flight to some ridiculous time and she got a refund from that as it is their fault.
yea they dont usually refund unless it their fault. you can either change the time of flight with a fees to pay or maybe you can ask them is it possibel to transfer the name, then u sell the tickets to someone else.

i think it is possible, you know how sometimes you win air tickets from a particular company, they dont put ur name in it, its their company name. Im not sure if it works the same if its from person's name to another person's name. you can try calling air asia ask them tho. good luck!
you can get a refund but only for the airport tax and fuel surcharge if any, but not on your ticket price.
change names also cannot.. tried before..

5.3 Flight Change:
Once a booking number has been issued, flight changes are subject to the following terms: Inside of forty-eight {48} hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time, no changes are allowed. The charges for flight change outside of forty-eight {48} hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time are provided for in the fee schedule, subject to the following conditions:
(a)if a lower fare is available, the difference in fares will not be refunded to the passenger;
(b)if the new flight booked is in a higher fare class than that of the cancelled booked flight, the difference in fares shall be paid by the passenger before the cancellation or change can be made;
(c)the change is not confirmed until we issue you a new Itinerary and/or booking number.
(d)changes on route(s) are not allowed.
5.4 Promotional Fares:
Article 5.3 regarding Flight Change rules and Article 5.5 regarding Name Change do not apply to certain selected promotional fares.
5.5 Name Change:
Once a booking number has been issued, name changes are subject to the following terms:
Provided that the request is made outside of six (6) hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time and the original as well as the substituted passengers' identities are authenticated, you are allowed to substitute the passenger named in the confirmed booking with another passenger subject to payment of a charge as provided for in the fee schedule.
How do i get the refund?
I had experience same like you. Normally we can do anything about refund. I try to call AA, came to counter and the end is i burn it the ticket.
depends if you gotten the low fare then say bye bye. that's why it is called low fare. u pay, u go, or u pay and dun wan to go just too bad
no refund.. unless u cari buyer lain then u tukar nama(plus rm50)hehe

Actually it is according to the booking type.. for promo fair you cannot cancelled the booking or request for refund. its only can change the date for the same passenger name and destination. So cannot resell it to anyone or change name. Means 'burn' it.
It is always the case - refund, no way. Unlike other airlines, refunds can be entertained if it is their fault.
But not with AA, you can change the flight schdule but pay a fee. (In most instances the changed flight schedule, it is always slightly higher than the origina one)

last time, can get fuel surcharge refund ~ now they get rid of the fuel surcharges = so no refund dy ~~
Change name policy if for non PROMO tickets. So if you cant make it, consider wasted.

AirAsia will only refund if they:
1. reschedule the flight
2. cancel the flight
They will refund to ur credit card that used to purchase the ticket. I had claim few refund before, all using credit card. But, it take about 6 months to get the refund after I attend to counter to "screw" them.
Sorry, I don't know if u pay by cash or debit card. U can ask at AirAsia counter. How about phone them? So far, I never entertained by AA thru phone.
change date or flight schedule ok... BUT sometimes you need to pay more than your ticket price to change the schedule..
early this year, my friend bought AA online ticket Langkawi-KL-Langkawi worth RM78..suddenly something happened and ask for schedule change..cost for changing schedule is RM1++..better buy new ticket
